Project Overview
Hi-Tec modernized the servo drive and motor on a pipe shaver machine at Amiantit–Bondstrand, replacing the older Seidel equipment while retaining the customer's existing Philips CNC controller.

The machine's existing Seidel servo drive and motor were selected for replacement as part of the equipment modernization.
Solution and Technical Scope
The project used a Siemens SINAMICS S120 drive and Siemens 1FK7 motor. The new servo arrangement was interfaced with the existing Philips CNC controller, allowing the upgrade to work with the customer's retained control platform.
Project Outcome
The project reference documents a replacement of the legacy servo drive and motor and integration with the existing CNC controller. No quantified production or accuracy improvements were supplied, so these should not be claimed without additional customer data.
