The extruder used an older DC drive and DC motor arrangement that was selected for replacement.
Solution and Technical Scope
The project converted the application to a Siemens SINAMICS G130 AC drive and AC motor. The scope focused on the drive and motor upgrade for the extrusion machine.
Project Outcome
The project replaced the old DC drive/motor arrangement with AC drive technology. The source does not provide measured energy consumption, output or maintenance figures.
