Hi-Tec upgraded the CNC control and drive system on a Spark turning lathe at Ittefaq Steel.
Challenge / Project Requirement
The turning lathe used an older Siemens 810D CNC system that was selected for modernization.
Solution and Technical Scope
The replacement configuration used Siemens SINUMERIK 840D sl with SINAMICS S120 drives for the Spark turning lathe.
Project Outcome
The project modernized the machine's control and drive platform. The source reference does not provide measured improvements in machining accuracy, cycle time or availability.
