Hi-Tec upgraded the CNC control system on a Tacchi turning lathe at Saudi Arabian Ductile Iron Pipes Company Ltd.
Challenge / Project Requirement
The turning lathe used an older Siemens 820T control system that was selected for modernization.
Solution and Technical Scope
The upgrade used Siemens SINUMERIK 840D sl with a SIMODRIVE 611U drive. The work focused on replacing the existing CNC control platform on the Tacchi lathe.
Project Outcome
The project reference confirms the legacy-control replacement and the new control/drive configuration. No numerical productivity, accuracy or downtime results were supplied.
