Hi-Tec modernized the drive system identified in the project reference as the IRSLS application at Universal Metal Coating Company.
Challenge / Project Requirement
The application used legacy Siemens Masterdrives VC units that were selected for replacement with a modern drive platform.
Solution and Technical Scope
Four Masterdrives VC units were upgraded to Siemens SINAMICS S120 common DC bus drives with Active Line Modules and integrated with a Siemens S7-400 PLC. The listed drive applications include the recoiler, uncoiler, scrap chopper and slitter motor.
Project Outcome
The reference associates the upgrade with improved line efficiency, minimized downtime and long-term spare-parts and technical-support availability. Confirm the full expansion of the IRSLS name and any quantified results with the project team before publication.
